Grant options for ICT solutions aimed at elderly persons living alone

12th of December

The Active & Assisted Living Program (AAL2) will be reopened next spring for innovative, international and multidisciplinary cooperation projects aimed at ICT solutions for elderly living independently. As part of the work-programme, the AAL Programme intends to launch a new Challenge-led Call for Proposals in February 2018: “Smart Solutions for Ageing well”.

New to the announced opening in 2018 is that smaller cooperative projects can also apply for a subsidy. The AAL opening in 2018 will be more flexible than previous openings with regard to the size and duration of the project. Previously, only consortia of at least three parties from different countries, including an end user, could submit an application. But next year smaller partnerships that are still in the idea and concept phase are also welcome. For these projects, with a maximum co-financing budget of € 300,000, a maximum term of six months applies.

With the expansion of the regulation, the European Commission hopes to attract more interesting innovative ideas from smaller partnerships, including for example innovative start-ups and SMEs.

It is expected that the definitive opening, including the budget and the exact conditions for applying for subsidy, will be published in February 2018. If you want to stay informed about this grant or want to discuss a project idea, please contact the Alfa grant experts.
